12/1/16

Centralia 79, Eatonville 58

(Centralia, WA) The Centralia Tigers used a well balanced attack to take a quick early lead on the Cruisers and never looked back. Hodges Bailey led the Tiger attack with 28, scoring 16 of those at the free throw line. It would be Layne Pertzborn who took passes from Bailey and Jordan Thomas to get the inside offense rolling hitting 7 of his 9 points in the 1st quarter.

Bailey would score 17 of his 28 in the 1st half hitting a pair of 3’s, 2 buckets and 7-8 at the line. Thomas would have 8 and Isaiah Trevino had 5 of his 7 off the bench. The Cruisers could only knock down 8 points in the 1st quarter and trailed 21-8. They fell further behind at the break 43-26. Carson Hutchings led Eatonville with 8 and Ray Springer knocked down 2 of his 5 3-balls in the first half. Foul trouble certainly hampered the Cruisers but they also missed several scoring opportunities digging themselves a big 1st half hole.

In the 2nd half the Cruisers came out firing led by Springer and Justin Brandt that combined for 5 2nd half 3’s. They would cut the 17 point deficit to 8 but could not get closer. Bailey would drive the bucket time and again and get fouled over and over sending him to the line going 9-11 finishing 16-19 for the game. The Tigers got solid performances from Cale Shute, Tyler Ashmore and strong paint work from Nick Edwards leading them to the win.

Eatonville was led by Springer’s 15 points all from the 3-point line, Carson Hutchings added 12 as did Justin Brandt. Brooks Moeller finished with 6 and led the Cruiser’s inside rebounding and playing tight defense. Centralia improves to 2-0 overall while Eatonville drops to 1-1.

Our Tommy Lowe of the Greene Realty Group Players of the Game went to Hodges Bailey for the Tigers and Ray Springer for the Cruisers. Our ProActive Physical Therapy Play of the Game went to the early play of Layne Pertzborn for Centralia.
