North Thurston 1, Timberline 0

(Lacey, WA) The North Thurston Rams and Timberline Blazers put it all on the field just like you would expect from this longtime, cross-town rivalry but it was the Rams who pulled off the win with a 1st half goal that they made stick for the entire 80 minutes.

Blazer keeper Jaelen Bush was under fire for most of the 1st half as the Rams made several significant runs b ut Bush and his backline led by Madison Douglas kept the Rams stymied until the 26th minute. Charlie Jellison got a free kick for NT and lobbed it up right down the middle to Nabeel Imran who knocked past Bush to give the Rams a 1-0 lead which held up to the break.

In the 2nd half Timberline began their assault on the Rams defense with deep runs from their strikers Madison Douglas who moved up from the backline, Eddie Skill and others. It was the Rams defense’s turn to dig in and they deflected and extinguished each of these scoring opportunities. Aly Badr the keeper was solid but picked up big time protection from Kody Marcott and Melvin Lopez while Safwan Smael was all over the field for the Rams.

The Rams defense was smothering and the Blazers never did break through losing the match 1-0. Timberline falls to 3-3 in SSC league play while North Thurston is now 3-3-1. Our Tommy Lowe of the Greene Realty Group Players of the Game went to the Rams Safwan Smael and Timberline’s Madison Douglas. The ProActive Physical Therapy Play of the Game was the lone goal scored by Nabeel Imran off a free kick from Charlie Jellison.
