The WIAA has shaken up their organization a little bit with the departure of one of the assistant Executive Directors. BJ Kuntz resigned at the end of the school year and has taken a position with the Renton school district as the district Athletic Director. We got a chance to talk with Kuntz in the interview below on how her 4 years at the WIAA went and why she felt it was time to get back to the other side of the WIAA. In the interview Kuntz takes us through her long career prior to the chance to work at the WIAA to her plans with her new job as top athletic job for the Renton school district.

Meantime, the WIAA under Executive Director Mick Hoffman decided this was a good time to re-align and re-assign some internal duties and eliminated Kuntz’s Assistant Executive Director position and have re-assigned it to focus on eligibility and membership. Kuntz also oversaw several of the final tournaments including girls bowling, soccer, slow pitch and fast pitch. Those duties will now be re-assigned amongst the other assistant exec directors and staff.
