(Chehalis, WA) It was clear this was WF West’s night from the beginning when the Bearcats struck just 2 minutes into the match on a beautiful assist from Jeremy Thompson to Adrian Jaimes who then belted it home for the quick 1-0 lead. It didn’t take long for the Bearcats to strike again scoring in the 10th minute when Colin Bradley took a rebound off the post and knocked it home for the 2-0 lead that would last until the half. Bradley’s goal would also earn our NW Hometeam of Better Homes and Garden Real Estate, Summit Funding and Country Financial Insurance’s Takin’ it to the House Play of the Game!

Tumwater never did get going and the only time they got one by the keeper it was waived off due to a hand ball. Meantime, the Bearcats went up 3-0 on a goal from Gage Grisham in the 56th minute. The Bearcats would score a 4th goal from the 4th different player when Moises Sanchez-Hernandez popped one in with 2 minutes to play in the match and the final 4-0 score. Thompson picked up his 2nd assist on the 4th and final goal.

Thompson’s 2 assists plus suffocating defense earned him the Thorbeckes MVP award. The WF West keepers of Josh Madrigal in the 1st half with Cayden Page in the 2nd kept the visiting score at 0 with the help of a strong backline of Thompson, Charles Comisky and Gabe Burger. The Bearcats improve to 4-1 and 4-0 in EVCO 2A league play.

Tumwater drops to 2-2-1 and 2-1 in league play. Despite the loss the T-Birds got solid performances from forwards Dylan Stevens and Gavin Cuoio and mid-fielder Malachi Vuong. The T-birds travel to Shelton on Wednesday while the Bearcats host Centralia.
