The Spring sports season is barrelling toward May and the post-season. So we thought we take a look at where all the baseball league standings sit with about 3 weeks or left to play before the play-offs beginning with the League and District tournaments. We’ll re-cap the final 4 from each State Tournament and update where each of those teams are currently standings plus post all leagues current standings from across the State.
3A report is first, 4A update at bottom of the post.
Last year Lincoln (Seattle) won the State Championship with a 6-3 win over Lake Washington. In the 3rd place game the O’Dea defeated West Seattle 8-7 for the 3rd place trophy.
This year all 4 teams are still in the mix beginning with Lincoln (Seattle) who are currently 7th a little better than mid-pack in the deep 16 team Metro League with a 5-4 league mark and 8-5 overall. Runner-up Lake Washington is serious about making another strong run topping the Kingco league with a 6-1 league record and 11-3 overall.
Last year’s 3rd place team the O’Dea Irish are just 1 of 2 te3ams still undefeated not only in league play at 9-0 but overall at 12-0. 4th place West Seattle is also looking to make another run in 3rd place in that huge Metro league with a league record of 8-2 and 11-3 overall.
The other undefeated team is the Kelso Highlanders who are 5-0 in Greater St Helens league play and 11-0 overall. Should be no surprise that O’Dea is #1 in the RPI and Kelso is #2. Mountlake Terrace is #3 with a 10-2 record, Mt Vernon is #4 at 12-2 and last year’s #1 seed who was knocked off by #16 Eastside Catholic at Regionals is #5 with an 11-3 mark. Lake Washington is #7 and West Seattle right behind at #8. Last year’s Champions Lincoln are #21.

Eastlake rolled to the 4A State Championship last year with a huge 13-1 victory over 11 seed Sumner in the title game. The Wolves were the #1 seed and rolled through the state tournament outscoring their opponents 27-3. Eastlake never allowed more than a run in the State play-offs with their closest game a 4-1 win over 16 seed Rogers of Puyallup in the opening round.
Sumner made it to the Championship game after stunning the 2 seed Puyallup in the semi-finals 5-1. Puyallup had a rough 2 days as they then lost the 3rd place game to 5th seeded Tahoma 12-1.
This year the defending state champs don’t look like they are willing to give up their title easily as they are currently tied for 1st in the Kingco league at 9-2 with Newport and are 10-3 overall.
Puyallup also has their sites set on redemption with a 9-1 league mark in the tough SPSL 4A and in 1st place. Sumner also from the SPSL 4A are right behind in 2nd place at 8-2 in league play and 8-5 overall. Tahoma of the NPSL 4A are tied for 4th at 2-2 in league play but are 8-04 overall.
There are just 2 teams who are still undefeated and both are out of the Mid-Columbia Conference. Richland is 8-0 sitting atop the league by a halfgame over Kamiakin who are 7-0. The Bombers are 13-0 overall and Kamiakin 11-0. Those 2 te3aqms also top the RPI in that order Richland #1 and Kamiakin #2.
Battle Ground from the Greater St Helens League are #3 with a 10-2 overall record, #4 is Jackson from the WESCO at 12-1 for the season and #5 is Skyline from the Kingco at 10-3.
Out of the top 4 from last season defending Champion Eastlake is tops at #7, Puyallup right behind at #8, Tahoma checks in at #11 and Sumner is #17.
