Seton Catholic 0, WF West 0

(Chehalis, WA) WF West hosted their senior night festivities on Thursday night as they played their final regular season home game of the season by hosting the Seton Catholic Cougars in nonleague action. A 1A state title contender, Seton Catholic was looking to really test themselves down the stretch of the regular season by taking some tough nonleague games and first up was the Evergreen 2A league champions. The WF West Bearcats wrapped up their first league title in program history earlier this week, but also wanted to build momentum going into the district tournament.

After 80 minutes of intense soccer, neither side was able to get on the board as the teams played to a 0-0 draw. Both sides had opportunities with Seton Catholic getting both a higher quantity and higher quality looks, but all three keepers in this match were tremendous. That resulted in us awarding all three keepers our Thorbeckes MVPs of the game as Zach Catherall for Seton Catholic and both Josh Madrigal and Cayden Page for WF West all had to make some tough saves but came through every time to keep the match scoreless.

Seton Catholic moves to 8-3-2 on the season and will have another nonleague match on Tuesday in a rematch of last year’s state quarterfinal when they travel to take on Montesano at 6pm. WF West moves to 10-3-1 and will wrap up the regular season on Tuesday when they visit Rochester at 7pm.
