On Tuesday and Wednesday, the WIAA State Girls Golf Tournaments took place across the state. Below are the results from each class, with a link to the full results from the State Tournaments.
4A
Jasmine Chen from Camas won the Individual Championship by just one shot. Chen shot 70 in the first round, the lowest round of the two days, and shot 76 in the second round to shoot 146 and win the title. Jackson’s Chanyoung Park was second with 147, Mount Si’s Maia Miller and Kentwood’s Avery Peterson tied for third with 155, and Emerald Ridge’s Lexi Trummert was fifth with 156.
Jackson won the team championship, shooting 665 as a team to edge Kentwood by only 14 shots. Kamiak was in third, two shots behind Kentwood.

3A
Mountain View’s Alyssa Rigby narrowly won the State Championship in the Individual competition. Rigby, a freshman, shot 69 in the first round and 72 in the second round to shoot 141 total and win by one stroke. Rigby’s 69 was the lowest round of the tournament and the only one to break 70. Bellevue’s Tatum Otto finished second with 142, Carly Ikei from Gig Harbor finished third with 149, Auburn Mountainview’s Esther Yu, and White River’s Lexie Mahler tied for fourth with 153.
Bellevue won the team event, as they shot 638 over the two days as a team. Gig Harbor was only 15 shots back at 653 to take second place, while Silas finished in third with a team total of 689.

2A
Jana Knapp from Mark Morris won the Individual State Championship with rounds of 72 and 79 for a total of 151 to win by three strokes. Her first round 72 was the lowest round of the 2A Championship. Fife’s Sofia Nguyen was runner-up with 154, Cleveland’s Sophia Tounalom was third with 156, and West Valley (Spokane )’s Melia Cerenzia and Bainbridge’s Grace Charintranont tied for fourth with 157.
Mark Morris won the team State Championship with a score of 80.5. Bainbridge was in second with 68.5 while Ephrata was close behind in third with 64.

1A
Overlake’s Kendria Wang won the Individual State Championship with a two-day total of 145. The sophomore shot 72 in the first round and backed it up with a 73 in the second round to win by seven shots. Both of her rounds were the lowest of that day. Medical Lake’s Kali Rowe came in second with 152, Elma’s Olivia Moore was third with 155, Seattle Christian School’s Ginevra Saloy was fourth with 156, and Charles Wright Academy’s Elle Lee, an 8th grader, finished fifth with 159.
Overlake took the team title in a close battle with Medical Lake. Overlake had 81 points while Medical Lake was at 74.5. Elma and Charles Wright had 48 points each in third.

2B/1B
Wahkiakum’s sophomore, Brienna Cothren, took the Individual State Championship after she shot an 85 in the first round and a sensational 71 in the second round. Her two-day total of 156 won her the title by ten shots. Her 71 was also the only round of the two days that broke 80. Almira-Coulee-Hartline’s Naomi Molitor and Lilyann Peralta were in second place with a two-day total of 166. Freeman’s Lily Knight shot 171 for fourth, while rounding out the top five was Kennedy Douglas from Tri-Cities Prep with 173.
In the team competition, Freeman scored 102 points to take the team State Championship. Wahkiakum was in second with 55 points, and Tri-Cities Prep was in third with 44.
