Last Friday and Saturday, the WIAA State Boys Tennis Tournaments took place across the state. Below are the results from each class, for both singles and doubles tournaments and team champions with a link to the full results from the State Tournaments.
4A
Singles Champion: Adrian Marin, Issaquah
Issaquah’s Adrian Marin dropped only ten games before facing defending champion Juanita’s Areeb Mefta in the final. After splitting the first two sets, Marin needed one break of serve in the decisive third set to come away with the state title.

Doubles Champion: Arham Mefta & Isaiah Leong, Juanita
Arham Mefta and Isaiah Leong survived a second set tiebreaker to win the state title. The Juanita tandem defeated two Mead doubles teams to win the championship.

Team State Champion: Juanita

Singles Champion: Joe DeGracia, Mercer Island
In the championship match after being taken to a third set by Southridge’s Ty Parrish. DeGracia won the state title with a bagel in the decisive final set.

Doubles Champion: Gian Manhas & Nolan Bang, Mercer Island
Mercer Island completed a singles and doubles sweep with Manhas and Bang shining as matches went on. The pair dropped only three games in second sets en route to a title

Team State Champion: Seattle Prep
2A
Singles Champion: Lucas Walburn, Columbia River
Walburn did not drop a single set towards winning a state title for Columbia River.

Doubles Champion: Spencer Betz & Kounosuke Wilcox, Burlington Edison
The Burlington Edison tandem survived their first round match in three sets before not dropping a single set the rest of the way.

Team State Champion: Sehome
1A
Singles Champion: Parker Hulse, University Prep
Hulse cruised to the 1A Title with a resurgent weekend. The University Prep star made the final off a pair of double bagel victories to the title match. Against Overlake’s Rishi Sanyal, Hulse dropped only three games towards winning the title.

Doubles Champion: Kai Ghorai & Soren Ghorai, Eastside Prep
Soren Ghorai in his senior year fittingly caps off his high school tennis career with a state championship with his sophomore brother. The pairing lost only five games towards winning the title.

Singles Champion: Ben Rasmusson, Manson
Rasmusson cruised to the 1B/2B Title after only dropping two games in the title match.
