Golf’s Longest Day is one of the most exhilarating, exhausting, and demanding days in all of sports. To get to the U.S. Open Final Qualifying, you must advance from local qualifying. Anyone whose handicap doesn’t exceed 0.4 or who is a professional is eligible to compete in local qualifying. Each site is given a certain number of qualifying spots that the field competes for.
The players play 36 holes to determine who will move on to the U.S. Open. If there are ties, a playoff will break the tie to see who will advance, where the drama escalates even further. The playoff is a sudden-death playoff with one hole being played at a time, and whoever has the best score on that hole advances. If multiple players are tied for the lowest score, they keep playing until someone emerges as the qualifier(s).
The players who qualify will play in the 125th U.S. Open, held at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA, for a U.S. Open record 10th time. This is the first time since 2016 that Oakmont has held the U.S. Open. The U.S. Open will take place next week, from June 12-15.
Below are all 10 Final Qualifier locations from Golf’s Longest Day. The names of those who have advanced to play in the U.S. Open and alternates are listed, with links to the full results.
