(Bellingham, WA) The Washington Men’s Amateur Championship holds five qualifiers across the state to determine the field. The final qualifier was held at North Bellingham Golf Course, where 22 players made the cut for the Washington Men’s Amateur Championship, to be held later this month at Bear Creek Country Club in Woodinville.
Wyatt Brownell from Burlington had the round of the day, firing a 2-under 70 to take the top spot. Brownell shot a 1-under 35 on the front, but bogeyed 12 and 13 to put him at 1-over. He birdied 14, 17, and 18 to match his front nine 35 and take the top spot by one shot. Tied for second were Burly Hildreth from Eastsound, Alex Kam from Bothell, and Ryder Odem from Kirkland at 1-under. Justin Towle from Bothell, Noah Voges from Bellingham, and Jordan Miller from Bothell all tied for fifth with even par 72s.
Tied for eighth were Tristan Kim from Mukilteo and Cody McLane from Arlington with 1-over 73s. Brett Johnson from Vancouver shot a 2-over 74 to finish in solo 10th. Caleb Davies from Langley, British Columbia, Canada, Conrad Chisman from Stanwood, Peter Dionne-Yahr from Kent, Jaiden Rasmussen from Ferndale, Luke Strand from Mukilteo, Jack Kendrick from Vancouver, and Sunny Park from Ferndale all shot 3-over 75s to tie for 11th.
Tied for 18th was Andrew Kuljis from Ferndale and David Sibbett from Tacoma with 4-over 76s. Daniel McGee from Snohomish, Mason Remmington from Seattle, and Quinn Burwell from Seattle tied for 20th at 5-over to take the final spots in the Championship.
The first alternate is Daniel Blankenburg from Bellingham, and the second alternate is Eric Joo from Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, each shooting 5-over 77s. Logan Davis from Longview is the third alternate, and Caleb An from Mukilteo is the fourth alternate, both shooting 6-over.
