The Seattle Kraken traded Andre Burakovsky for Chicago Blackhawk Joe Veleno.
The 30 year old Burakovsky is coming off a 2024-25 campaign that saw him score 10 goals and 27 assists.
Burakovsky was a part of memorable moments with the Kraken including scoring an overtime goal against the Los Angeles Kings in a wild 9-8 victory in November of 2022.
The two time Stanley Cup Champion had two years left on his five year $27.5 million contract he signed with the Kraken back in 2022.
Andre was a valuable player for our organization during the three years he was here, and we wish him and his family the best of luck in Chicago. Joe Veleno comes to Seattle after a season that had him score eight goals and nine assists playing for both the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks.
The 25 year old Veleno, was traded March 7th to Chicago from Detroit.
Veleno was picked 30th overall in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft by the Red Wings. He has scored 38 goals and 43 assists over his NHL career.
He has one year left on his two year $4.55 million contract he signed with the Red Wings last year.
