(Walla Walla, WA) The PNGA (Pacific Northwest Golf Association) is hosting the 123rd Women’s Amateur Championship at Wine Valley Golf Club. The championship is 36 holes of stroke-play to shrink the field down to 32 players. After that, match play will determine the champion. Seeds for match play are based on the stroke play portion of the title. The championship will take place from July 7-11, with stroke play on the 7th and 8th, while match play is from the 9th through the 11th. The 9th is the Round of 32 and Round of 16 matches, the 10th is the quarterfinal and semifinal matches, while the 36-hole championship match will be on the 11th.

Last year, Justice Bosio from Caboolture, Queensland, Australia, won the title. Bosio defeated fellow Aussie, Hannah Reeves, 6 & 5 to win at Tacoma Country & Golf Club in Tacoma. For the first time, the PNGA Women’s Amateur was designated as an official USGA Exemption Event, and Bosio earned an exemption into the 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship. Bosio was ranked 55th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) when she won her title. Bosio is now a professional on the WPGA Tour of Australasia after turning pro in October.

This year, the exemption will take the winner to the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon, from August 4-10. The Eli Sports Network will have on-the-ground coverage in Oregon for the final few days of the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur and full coverage that entire week.
