(Walla Walla, WA) The Quarterfinals and Semifinals at the 123rd PNGA Women’s Amateur Championship wrapped up today. The morning session was the Quarterfinal matches, where no match went past the 15th hole. The Semifinals took place in the afternoon. Tomorrow, the 36-hole Championship Match will take place. This week’s winner will get an exemption into the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Oregon, from August 4-10.

Quarterfinals

Inez Ng (Singapore) beat June Hsiao (Canada) 4 & 3. Ng won four of the first six holes to take a 3 Up lead and didn’t look back. Hsiao won the 8th hole, but wins on the 12th and 14th holes for Ng helped her win on the 15th hole.

Jazy Roberts (Australia) defeated Reagan Southerland (Atlanta, GA) 7 & 6. Roberts came out swinging, winning the first six holes to take a whopping 6 Up lead. Southerland’s only win of the match came on the 8th hole, but Roberts quickly recovered by winning the 9th and 10th holes as the match concluded on the 12th hole.

Anika Varma (Rocklin, CA) won over Berkley Ledesma (University Place, WA) 4 & 3. Varma took a 2 Up lead through three holes, but Ledesma took the 4th to bring it down to a 1 Up lead. Varma won the 6th hole, stretching her lead back to 2 Up. Ledesma won the 8th hole to go back to 1 Down, but Varma countered by winning the 9th hole to go back to 2 Up. Winning the 12th hole put Varma 3 Up, and she won the 15th to win the match.

Darae Chung (New Zealand) beat Kyra Ly (Portland, OR) 4 & 3. Ly won the first two holes, taking a 2 Up lead, but Ching battled back by winning the 3rd, 5th, and 7th holes to go from 2 Down to 1 Up. Ly won the 8th hole to tie the match, but Chung won the 9th to go to the back nine 1 Up. Chung won the 12th, 13th, and 14th holes to take a 4 Up lead and won after tying the 15th hole.
