Emerald Downs: World Championship Corgi Races 2025

(Auburn, WA) The 2025 World Championship Corgi races were run on Sunday at the Worldwide leader in Corgi racing Emerald Downs. There were 10 heats and 1 Championship race. ESPN was on hand and the Corgi races will be part of a special on ESPN 2 later this summer.

The weather was picture perfect on Corgi World Championship Race Day at Emerald Downs. A huge throng 8,000 made their way down to the racetrack to watch all the activity on the racetrack.

Nearly a 100 Corgis from all over the Pacific Northwest and around the country and Canada came to race in the biggest Corgi Race in the country which will be shown later this summer on ESPN’s the Ocho.

The championship featured 11 Corgis including previous Corgi World Championship winners and two dogs from Sunday’s third heat as two Corgis hit the wire first.

But the winner was a Corgi who won her Saturday qualifying heat to race on Sunday. Gustave the Girl Dog “GG” won Heat #9 on Sunday and went on to streak to the championship. She is owned by Alicia Wen & Dustin Embrey of Seattle. What an impressive victory as she was 3 lengths clear of Dudley, Banana and last year’s winner Milo Bigglesworth.
