(Orondo, WA) The 17th Parent-Child Championship took place at Desert Canyon Golf Resort. The championship is played in a Chapman stroke play format. Two players play as partners, with each player teeing off and playing their second shots, before playing one ball and alternating shots to finish the hole. On par 3s, the pairs each hit a tee shot and then play alternate shot to finish the hole.

Robby and Lincoln Hipp from Kirkland won the title by two strokes, firing a six-under 65. The pair went bogey-free, with back-to-back birdies on the third and fourth holes, and on the eighth and ninth holes to go out in 31. The pair birdied the 10th and 14th holes to come in with a 34 and the victory. Tied for second were Scott and Jackson Barter from North Bend and Josh and Chris Clogston from Mukilteo. The two pairs were at four-under with 67s. Kenji and Cory Pickeral from Ephrata finished in solo fourth place at two-under par.

Todd and Justin Johnson were the defending champs, and they took fifth place with a one-under 70. The Johnsons tied for first in the net championship with the Barter’s and Evan and Randal Groat from Olympia at seven-under. The Johnsons won on a scorecard playoff to take the net title.
