9/12/25
(Olympia, WA) Lewis and Clark made the trip all the way from Spokane with an 0-0-1 record after having several early games cancelled. Olympia came in at 1-1 after a big win against Capital the night before.
Lewis and Clark 2 Olympia 0
The teams played even for most of the first half. Olympia did a good job of working down the wings with the speedy duo of Mika Meconi and Malia Satre. However once they got into the attacking 3rd they ran into a very strong Tiger defense anchored by senior center backs Piper Antoniuk and Maylin Nicholson. Those 2 knew they had to play well with freshman Ada Dempsey getting her first ever varsity start.
The Tigers patrolled the middle of the field with Kinlee Lutz, Keegan Tee and Charlotte Dix controlling the pace of the game. It was Lutz that got the scoring started in the 34th minute. Off a corner that looked to be cleared by an Olympia defender Lutz struck from well outside the penalty area with a perfect drop in goal. That would be the lone goal of the first half.
Halftime Lewis and Clark 1 Olympia 0
In the second half it was much of the same with both teams’ defenses not allowing the other an advantage. Olympia also has a senior center back duo with Brynn Ud0 and Arianna Basil but it was sophomore Celeste Wilhelm shining in a new role. Time and time again it seemed like Wilhelm was in the right spot to make a play.
The Tigers did find the back of the net one more time. In stoppage time Charlotte Dix took the ball down the sideline before sending a low pass along the ground into the penalty area. That ball found Keegan Tee who took a quick one touch shot for the 2-0 final score
Our Sumner Holiday Inn Express MVP went to the Tigers Charlotte Dix for her relentless play and late assist.
Lewis and Clark now 1-0-1 finish up their west side road trip with a match against Tahoma at noon on 9/13. Olympia is now 1-2 on the season and has a home game against Camas on the 16th at 6pm.
