The Saint Martin’s Saints had a pair of players named to the GNAC preseason all-conference team. Diego Trejo-Delgado and Dae’Kwon Watson represent the Saints as they look to make it to the GNAC Championships this winter.
Diego Trejo-Delgado was a pivotal player for the Saints last year, averaging 12.6 points per game and six rebounds. He shot 48.9% from the floor and had a season-high 31 points in a game against Alaska late last year. He had three double-doubles and was a GNAC Honorable Mention. The 6’7 forward is in his sophomore year and will be leaned on by the Saints.
Dae’Kwon Watson had his season cut short last year due to injury. The Seattle native nearly recorded a triple-double against Evergreen State, with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and a whopping eight steals. Watson attended Auburn High School and will be one of the top players in the conference. Watson is a 6’1 guard and enters his redshirt-junior year.
Saint Martin’s was picked to tie for fourth with Western Washington in the preseason coaches poll after finishing seventh last year, one spot out of making the GNAC Championships.
