Rochester 46, Tenino 0

(Rochester, WA) Why even attempt to throw the ball when you can run all over the field like the Rochester Warriors did Friday night on Senior night.

The Warriors racked up 397 yards of offense all on the ground in their rivalry game with Tenino and were led by senior RB Ethan Rodriguez with 199 yards and 3 TDs.

Xander Peterman and Maddox Rodgers would score first and thje duo finished with enough yardage that any coach would be thrilled to have for an entire game.

Peterman busted off a 32-yard sprint for the 1st score just 9:12 into the game. Rochester went for 2 each time and led 8-0. Peterman would finish with 81 rushing yards. Rodgers had 91 total yards with 47 of them coming on the 2nd TD run of the game with 4:17 to go in the 1st and the Warriors raced out to a 16-0 lead.

This was all before Sr Ethan Rodriguez exploded scoring the next 3 touchdowns for Rochester with a 16 yard burst to finish the scoring in the 1st half for the Warriors and they led 24-0.

Rodriguez continued where he left off in the 3rd quarter plowing in from the 7 yard line and then scored with a monster 87 yard dash to paydirt. Rodriguez sprinted through a big hole over the right side and was gone pushing the score to 38-0.

Wyatt Dahl wrapped up the scoring with a 2 yard blast early in the 4th quarter to finish the scoring 46-0.

Tenino was stymied time and again by the Warrior defense giving up just a total of 106 yards. The Beavers best chance was in the 3rd quarter when they drove down to the 13 but it was 4th down and they fell short of a 1st down by 5 yards. That set up the back-breaking 87 yard TD by Rodriguez.

The Thorbeckes MVP of the game was Ethan Rodriguez with consideration to Wyatt Dahl.

Rochester is now 2-1 in EVCO 1A league play and 6-2 overall. The Warriors travel to Hoquiam next week to wrap up league play.

Tenino drops to 2-2 in EVCO play and 6-2 for the season. Ther Beavers will play at Aberdeen in a non-league match-up next week.
