The Saint Martin’s Saints were picked to finish tied for fourth in the GNAC Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll. The Saints were 19-12 overall but 8-10 in the GNAC and finished seventh, just outside of making the GNAC Championships.
The Saints are led by Dae’Kwon Watson, who was hurt just eight games into the season. Watson comes from Auburn High School and is one of the players picked on the preseason all-conference team. Watson averaged 14.5 points per game in those eight contests last season.
Kaden Hansen is also from Auburn and will look to make an impact with Saint Martin’s. Two years ago, Hansen started six games and averaged 7.1 points per game. Matt Lindblom is the third player on the Saint Martin’s team from Washington. Lindblom played his high school ball just six miles away at Olympia High School.
2022 GNAC Coach of the Year, Aaron Landon, returns as head coach for the Saints. He’s the only head coach in Saints history to win multiple GNAC Championships and continues to make SMU history heading into his seventh season at the helm.
