(Federal Way, WA) Friday was Day 1 of the girls 3A State Swim and Dive Championships at the King County Aquatic Center. This year the format was returned to the pre-covid format of just 2 days instead of hosting a 3rd day for diving only.

The bonus to having diving back during the swimming competition is it can be part of the final day on Saturday. About midway through the swimming competition they will break and hold the diving finals. The crowd is much larger and the divers from the state placing teams get to feel more part of their win.

This did extend the Championship day sessions a little bit but it gives the entire swim/dive teams a chance to compete with each other and celebrate together.

This hub is going to print results and ultimately video highlights. Below are the Day 1 preliminary results:
