EVERETT, WASH
The Everett Silvertips picked up right where they left off by shutting out the Swift Current Broncos 6-0.
Tarin Smith, Carter Bear, Jaxsin Vaughan, Rylan Gould, Zachary Shantz, and Lukas Kaplan recorded goals for the Silvertips.
Anders Miller made 15 saves in the shutout win. The loss went to Aiden Eskit who made 50 saves.
The Silvertips aimed to be the first WHL team to win 20 games this season after Everett jumped out to a dazzling (19-2-3) start to the season, the best record in the league. Swift Current came into the evening with a record of (8-14-1), bookmarking themselves in tenth in the Eastern Conference.
Last time out, the Silvertips saw Carter Bear record a hat trick and the power play went 4 of 5 against the Regina Pats in a 8-3 win Wednesday night. Swift Current that same evening was on the short end of an 8-5 defeat in the hands of the Seattle Thunderbirds.
The Broncos started Aiden Eskit (0-4-1) between the pipes while Everett tabbed Anders Miller (9-7-2) with the start for the Tips.
Tarin Smith opened the scoring for Everett by joining an offensive rush and dishing a backhander by Aiden Eskit to put Everett in front 1-0, Carter Bear earned credit for the assist with the goal at 4:55. The Silvertips went on the power play at 9:18 of the opening frame and it did not take long for them to strike. Carter Bear one timed a Julius Miettinen feed from Rylan Gould to put Everett up 2-0. The Silvertips outshot the Broncos 14-5 in the first period. A strong start for the team with the best record in the league.
Jaxsin Vaughan buried a loose rebound off Eskit for a power play tally at 9:34 of the middle frame from Tarin Smith and Zachary Shantz. Everett led 3-0. 36 seconds later, Rylan Gould drove down right wing and whistled a goal by Eskit to give Everett a 4-0 advantage. Mirco Dufour and Jesse Heslop earned helpers on the goal.
Late in the period at 19:49, Everett on the power play capitalized again. Zachary Shantz stashed in a loose puck at the side of the end at gave Everett a 5-0 lead, Jesse Heslop and Rylan Gould assisted on the tally. Everett outshot Swift Current in the period 29-7.
The third period was clear sailing for Everett with Lukas Kaplan scoring with 33 seconds left on the power play to cement a 6-0 win.
Anders Miller recorded the shutout for the Silvertips for their 20th win of the season and 43 points in the WHL Standings, best in the league.
The Silvertips head on the road tomorrow to face the Vancouver Giants at 7pm from Langley Events Centre.

Tri-City Americans 5 Kelowna Rockets 2
Connor Dale and Grady Martin opened the scoring for Tri-City through the first two periods, before Kelowna scored a pair of goals in the opening minute of the third period coming 31 seconds apart to tie the game. Connor Dale responded with his second of the game, and Gavin Garland added insurance for Tri-City nearly two minutes later. Cruz Pavao added extra insurance to cement the Tri-City win.
Portland Winterhawks 7 Regina Pats 2
Portland took a 7-0 lead with Alex Weiermair, Jordan Duguay, and Nathan Free each scored a pair of goals to supply Portland the healthy lead. The Winterhawks had 52 shots in the game while Ondrej Stebetak came away with the win.
Victoria Royals 5 Seattle Thunderbirds 3
A high scoring second period saw the Victoria Royals come away with a home win over the visiting Thunderbirds. Antonio Martorana, Matej Pekar, and Brendan Rudolph scored for Seattle in the loss.
Prince George Cougars 3 Wenatchee Wild 0
Tobias Tvrznik did all he could making 30 saves, but the Wenatchee Wild were blanked by Prince George.
Kamloops Blazers 5 Spokane Chiefs 4
There were goals galore in the first period when the teams were tied at three after one. This included Spokane scoring a pair of goals 58 seconds apart after Kamloops had taken a 3-1 lead late. Kamloops countered with a pair of goals in the second period to take a 5-3 lead. In the end it was not enough as Kamloops downed the Spokane 5-4. Chase Harrington, Rhett Sather, Owen Martin, and Harry Mattern scored the goals for the Chiefs.
