WF West 72, La Center 40
(Chehalis, WA) The WF West Bearcats were anxious to get started and with a well balanced offense led nearly start to finish. The La Center Wildcats took a 2-0 lead and that was their first and last lead of the night as Fox Rogerson answered for the Bearctas with a 3 and then another 3.
WF West extended that lead to 17-9 after the 1st quarter. Hayden Rooney got led the Bearcats getting off to a fast start with 7 with Rogerson right behind with 6.
In the 2nd quarter the Wildcats got their offense rolling scoring 12 and cutting the lead to 6 at one point and was still in reach at the half down 28-21. Gunnar Schockelt led La Center at the break with 9.
WF West then began to pull away in the 3rd quarter and drew off to a comanding win by 32. The Bearcats did it with an extremely well balanced offense with 9 players getting in the scoring column and 3 tying for top score. Rooney, Wyatt Hoffman and Blake Hampton all hit for 10.
Rooney also earned our Thorbeckes MVP of the game award for his fast start and consistent effort for the whole game handling the ball dishing assists and grabbibg boards.
Rogerson and Jack Becker each had 9, chipping in 8 were Race Rockey and Cody Schwarz, Alex Stafford had 6 and Jesus Luque had 2.
For La Center Gunnar Schockelt led and led all scorers with 12, Peyton Larkin had 10, Zayne Latham added 7, Duane McWoods with 4, Jonathan Suhajda with 3 while Maddox Parker and Brody Mills each had 2.
WF West improves to 3-3 and travels to Mark Morris on Monday for another non-league game. La Center drops to 2-2 in the Trico 1a and will host Castle Rock on Tuesday in conference play.
