(Lacey, WA) The Saint Martin’s Saints Men’s Basketball team took on Douglas College in a Sunday afternoon matchup. The Saints took care of business in the first half, shooting 14-19 from three-point range and led 64-20. Saint Martin’s defense continued to slow down Douglas College, as the Saints held them to 14 points in the second half. Saint Martin’s won 114-34 to pick up their fifth win in a row and improve to 4-0 at home this season.
Ronyo Obou had a historic day, scoring 40 points, the third most in a game in Saint Martin’s history and the most in over two decades. Obou drained nine threes, which is the most in Saint Martin’s history for threes made in a game. Obou’s 40-point effort is the most points scored by a GNAC player this season.
Patrick Kilfoil had 19 points on 7-9 shooting, including 5-7 from three. Matthew Lindblom had 17 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and a steal in his first start. Nari Jordan had 11 points, seven rebounds, and a pair of blocks. Pablo Navarro had 11 rebounds, and Jahmarian Forrester had 12 rebounds, five on the offensive glass.
Saint Martin’s improves to 8-2 on the season and will be back in action on Tuesday, when they host Pacific University.
