SEATTLE, WASH

The Seattle Kraken traded forward Mason Marchment to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a 2026 fourth and 2027 second round draft pick.

Seattle trades Marchment after acquiring him from the Dallas Stars on June 19th, 2025. Marchment played 29 games for the Kraken scoring four goals and accounting for nine assists.

Kraken General Manager Jason Botterill said, “I’d like to thank Mason for his contributions to our club, and we wish him and his family all the best in Columbus…the trade gives us more draft capital and flexibility as we look to improve our team moving forward.”

The Kraken lost their tenth of eleven games on Thursday night against Calgary.

The NHL roster freeze took place on Friday Night, one of two trades to take place the eve of rosters being frozen until Christmas. Los Angeles traded forward Phillip Danault to Montreal the same evening.

Seattle is in the midst of a four game road trip where they are in San Jose today. The trip however, will be without their trade acquisition from this offseason as he heads to Ohio’s capital. Columbus stands in last place in the Eastern Conference yet six points out of a playoff spot.
