PUYALLUP, WASH

The Cascade Christian Cougars overcame being shutout after the first quarter with Brooklyn Whittington and Abigail Shelton leading the way to a 39-20 win over the Fife Trojans. The Cougars advance to 5-1 on the season. Fife drops to 5-3.

Fife jumped to a 5-0 lead after one quarter, with Jackie Alavez-Eufracio opening the scoring for Fife to begin the game.

Cascade Christian found their stride in the second quarter thanks to Brooklyn Whittington scoring 9 of their 11 first half points. The Cougars led 11-9 at halftime.

To start the second half, Abigail Shelton went on a tear, scoring 12 points in the third quarter to put Cascade Christian ahead of Fife 24-17.

In the fourth quarter, defense reigned supreme for Cascade Christian outscoring Fife 15-3.

Cascade Christian came away with the 39-20 win to build confidence heading into the Christmas break. They face Crosspoint Christian in their next game on January 3rd. Fife plays on Saturday against Bonney Lake from Highline College at 11:30a.

Our Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game CO-MVPs of the Game were Brooklyn Whittington with 11 points with nine in the second quarter and Abigail Shelton with 14 points and 12 of them in the third quarter. Cascade Christian saw contribution on the offensive glass. Cascade Christian saw their freshmen earn valuable playing time in Josie Bingham, Macey McNicol, and Alice Johnson.

Fife saw Ariana Vaeao led Fife in scoring with 7, with Milani Leslie scoring 5, and AJ Jones Laguna with 4.
