(Tacoma, WA) The 11th annual T-Town Throwdown, hosted at Silas High School, tips-off on Monday and runs through Wednesday. Every team will play three games to close out the 2025 portion of the season. The eight teams competing this year are Prairie, Newport (Bellevue), Nooksack Valley, Bonney Lake, Renton, Franklin Pierce, Foss, and Silas. ESN will stream every game of both the boys and girls tournaments. This hub will be updated as the tournament goes on with game recaps, highlights, and a link to the full game replay for every game.

T-Town Throwdown Placing Day – Wednesday, December 31

T-Town Throwdown Championship Game, Bonney Lake 75, Silas Rams 72

After both teams used sensational offense on Monday and thrilling wins on Tuesday to get to the championship game, it seemed a thriller was going to take place for the title, and it did. Bonney Lake jumped out to a 23-11 lead using more of their potent offense. The Panthers kept their lead but Silas cut into it a little as Bonney Lake led 40-31. Bonney Lake’s lead grew to 65-53 after the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Silas mounted a comeback for the second night in a row. The Rams slowly but surely clawed their way back into the game, and after a phenomenal lay-in from Trey Collier, Silas led 72-70 with just over a minute left. Bonney Lake turned to Keenan Perry again, who in the semifinals hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer for the Panthers. Perry hit another clutch triple to put Bonney Lake in front 73-72. Bonney Lake held on as Silas had a couple of chances to retake the lead, but the Panthers would win another excellent game 75-72 to stay perfect on the season and win the T-Town Throwdown.

Our Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went back to Bonney Lake’s Keenan Perry. He was the hero for the Panthers for the second night in a row and drained five threes, none bigger than the last one he sank.

Bonney Lake’s Keenan Perry led all scorers with 23 points, 13 of them in the third quarter. Cole Seminara had 18 points, Eli Davis had 11 points, Robert Mosley IV and Jace Andino had nine points, Jackson Sasser and Tae Jackson both had two points and Jayden Barrett had one point.

Silas was led by Cannon Howard, who had 22 points, 14 of which came in the second half. Trey Collier and Myree Woods had 12 points, MakHai Pleasant-Tolliver had 11 points, Keiondre Baldwin had seven points, AJ Smith had four points, Jaxen Loften and Malachi Doss had two points each.

3rd Place Game, Prairie Falcons 77, Renton Redhawks 65

After both teams nearly advanced to the championship game, the two sides were looking to claim second place. Prairie led 13-11 after the first quarter. The two teams were tied at the half at 26 after back-and-forth action. Prairie scored 26 points in the third quarter to jump out to a 52-35 lead. Prairie would get the victory with a 77-65 performance. Prairie secures third place with their win, while Renton takes fourth place.

Our Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went to Prairie’s Ben Nkansah, who had four points but was impactful on the defensive end of the floor.

Prairie was led by Carson Morningstar, who had a game-high 27 points. Jamir Jones had 20 points, Daniel Carbajal-Vargas had seven points, Tavin Timerley and Malachi Patton had five points, Andre Mbomba had four points, and Jarell Jones had two points.

Renton was led by Nate Omar’s 11 points, Sudan Luok had nine points, Braylon Bray had eight points, Nick Jarvis, Julius White-Kelley, Kevin Herd, and Jalen Taylor each had six points, Adan Abdi had five points, Isaac Ellegan had three points, and Jayden Holifield and Suhail Abdulmumin each had two points.

5th Place Game, Nooksack Valley Pioneers 57, Franklin Pierce Cardinals 53

With third place on the line, Nooksack Valley and Franklin Pierce were looking for their last win of 2025. Nooksack Valley held a slight lead at 15-13 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, the defenses were the story, as Nooksack Valley led 25-21 at the break. Nooksack Valley had a 19-point third quarter to extend their lead up to 44-35 heading into the fourth. Franklin Pierce rallied, but Nooksack Valley took the game with a 57-53 victory and claimed fifth place, while the Cardinals took sixth place.

The Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went to Nooksack Valley’s Owen Wichers, who led the Pioneers with 21 points, 10 of them in the first quarter.

Nooksack Valley’s Crew Bauman had 11 points, Cole Coppinger had 10 points, Jayden Anderson had six points, Dane Ackerman had five points, and Weston Silves and Treven Scheenstra each had two points.

Franklin Pierce was led by Hakeen Collins, who had a game-high 25 points. Emmanuel Johnson had 13 points, Jojo McLean had seven points, DJ Valentine and Trey Smith had three points each, and Lamel Brim had two points.

Hakeen Collins With The Rejection In Transition

7th Place Game, Newport (Bellevue) Knights 93, Foss Falcons 55

With fourth place up for grabs, the Knights and Falcons were looking for their first win at the T-Town Throwdown. Newport clutched a slight lead of 14-13 after the first quarter. The offenses warmed up in the second as the game was tied at 34 at the half. Newport had a 30-point third quarter to grab a 64-48 lead. Newport dropped 29 points in the fourth to win 93-55. Newport wins seventh place while Foss takes eighth.

The Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went to Newport’s Zachary Kwan, who had 22 points and six three-pointers.

Newport’s Danny Kang finished with 19 points, both Elliot Feng and Masa Lo had 17 points, William Ma had eight points, Eniola Aje had four points, David Mbaga and Adrian Yen had three points and Joseph Fenton had two points.

For Foss, they were led by Kaeden Chinnell who had 18 points, James Davis had 15 points, Abdoul Gueye had 12 points and Lakai Hovelman had 10 points.

Winners Bracket (Semifinals) – Tuesday, December 30

Bonney Lake Panthers 64, Prairie Falcons 62

Both teams had convincing wins yesterday to move to the semifinals, and were looking to play in the final game of the week tomorrow night. Bonney Lake led by one at 16-15 through the first eight minutes. At halftime, Prairie rallied to hold a 31-29 lead. The sides were tied at 49 apiece heading into the final quarter. Prairie led 62-61 and had two free throws with 1.7 seconds left, but missed them both. On the second free throw, a free-throw violation was called against the Falcons, giving Bonney Lake the ball going the length of the floor. The Panthers chucked the ball down the floor and called a timeout with one second left. Bonney Lake went to Keenan Perry, who drilled the game-winning three-pointer to give the Panthers a 64-62 win.

Our Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went to Bonney Lake’s Cole Seminara, who had 26 points and almost singlehandedly kept Bonney Lake close enough to eke out the victory.

Bonney Lake’s Keenan Perry had 15 points, including the game-winner. Jace Andino had 11 points, Robert Mosley IV had six points, Tae Jackson had four points, and Jayden Barrett had two points.

Prairie’s Malachi Patton led the way with 22 points, 18 in the second half. Carson Morningstar finished with 20 points, Jamir Jones had eight points, Ben Nkansah had five points, Tavin Timperley had three points, and Payton Poppe had two points.

Two of the faster-paced teams in the state went at it in Renton and Silas, and it was pedal to the medal once again. In the first quarter, neither team could miss as Silas led 24-21. In the second quarter, the defenses forced turnovers as the pace didn’t slow down a bit, and the game was tied at 36 at the half. Renton took control of the third quarter to gain a 59-52 lead heading into the fourth. Renton led by double digits, but Silas came back as Malachi Doss hit a three with 38.6 seconds left to put Silas in front by two. The Rams would get the comeback victory 79-75 to move on to the championship game against Bonney Lake.

The Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went to Silas guard MakHai Pleasant-Tolliver, who led Silas with 23 points.

Silas was also led by Trey Collier, who had 22 points, including 9-10 from the free throw line. AJ Smith had 14 points, Cannon Howard had 13 points, Malachi Doss finished with five points, and Jaxen Loften finished with two points.

Renton’s Juice White-Kelley had 25 points to lead all scorers. Sudan Luok and Nate Omar had 12 points, Isaac Elegan and Suhail Abdulmumin each had nine points, Jayden Holifield had four points, and Jalen Taylor had two points.

Nooksack Valley Pioneers 81, Newport (Bellevue) Knights 37

Nooksack Valley had a commanding first quarter, scoring nearly as many points in the first as they did all of yesterday’s game. The Pioneers led 25-14 through one quarter of action. Nooksack Valley continued their great scoring pace with a 23-point second quarter to lead at the half 48-23. The Pioneers built their lead up to 65-32 after the third quarter. Nooksack Valley would get the win 81-37 to move on to the third-place game.

The Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went to Nooksack Valley’s Jayden Anderson, who had a game-high 20 points, 13 of which came in the first half.

Nooksack Valley had three other players in double figures, with Owen Wichers finishing with 14 points, and Cole Coppinger and Crew Bauman each with 12 points. Treven Scheenstra had six points, Weston Silves had five points, Trace Polumbo had three points, and Dane Ackerman and Kade Mitchell each had two points.

Newport’s Elliot Feng led the way with 10 points, Danny Kang had nine points, Masa Lo had eight points, Zachary Kwan had four points, David Mbaga had three points, William Ma had two points, and Joseph Fenton had one point.

In a battle of the birds, the Cardinals and Falcons were looking to make it to tomorrow’s third-place game. Franklin Pierce jumped out to a six-point first-quarter lead at 17-11. The two sides were even in the second quarter, as Franklin Pierce held a six-point advantage at 34-28 at the halftime break. Franklin Pierce built a seven-point advantage going into the third quarter at 46-39. Franklin Pierce picked up the win 68-52 to move to the third-place game.

The Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went to Franklin Pierce’s Emmanuel Johnson, who led all scorers with 27 points and canned five threes.

Franklin Pierce’s Hakeen Collins had 21 points, Gio DePaolo had five points, Lamel Brim had four points, DJ Valentine and Latrelle Brim both had three points and Jojo McLean had two points.

Foss was led by Kaeden Chinnell, who had 21 points, Abdoul Gueye wasn’t far behind with 16 points, James Davis had seven points, Malikyh Colon had five points, Malik DeCastro had three points, and Mustafa Al Gburi and Lakai Hovelman both finished with two points.

First Round – Monday, December 29

Prairie Falcons 94, Newport (Bellevue) Knights 64

Both teams came into the first boys contest of the week with some momentum, and the offenses were scalding hot in the first quarter. Prairie led 31-16, with both sides shooting effectively from three-point distance. Prairie put up 21 in the second quarter to extend the lead up to 52-30 at the halftime break as Newport buried eight three’s while Prairie nailed six triples. The Falcons had 27 points in the third quarter, pushing their lead up to 79-44. Newport had a 20-point fourth, but Prairie would get the win with a 94-64 victory.

Our Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went to Prairie’s Malachi Patton. Despite not scoring in the first quarter, Patton helped set up his teammates and finished with 20 points, while also getting it done defensively.

Prairie’s Carson Morningstar had 21 points, leading the Falcons, Patton had 20 points, Jamir Jones had 11 points, Tavin Timperly had nine points, Maurice Brown had eight points, Daniel Carbajal-Vargas finished with six points, Griffin Smith, Brady Davidson, and Ben Nkansah each had four points, Jarell Jones had three points, Parker Lovejoy and Andre Mbomba both had two points.

Newport’s Danny Kang had 22 points, Zach Kwan had 21 points, as the pair had five threes each. Elliot Feng had eight points, David Mbaga had six points, William Ma had five points, and Nathan Wong had two.

Bonney Lake Panthers 75, Nooksack Valley Pioneers 30

Like the Nooksack Valley girls team, the Pioneers boys team took on a 4A SPSL opponent in Bonney Lake, who’s undefeated coming into the afternoon matchup. Bonney Lake jumped out to a 21-5 lead using a combination of smothering defense and athleticism to gain a big margin. Bonney Lake had another 21-point quarter to take a 42-17 halftime lead. The Panthers extended their lead to 59-30 with the help of Keenan Perry, who had 11 points in the quarter. Bonney Lake took the game, winning 75-30 and moving on to face Prairie in the semifinals.

Our Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went to Bonney Lake’s Keenan Perry. Perry had 14 of his 19 points in the second half, including five three-pointers in the game, and helped run the show on both ends of the floor for the Panthers.

Bonney Lake also had contributions from Eli Davis with 15 points, Cole Seminara with 14 points, Jace Andino with 12 points, Robert Mosley IV with 10 points, and Jayden Barrett had five points.

Nooksack Valley was led by Cole Coppinger with 10 points, Owen Wichers with nine points, Crew Bauman and Jayden Anderson each had three points, Brian Leyerly and Treven Scheenstra had two points, and Kade Mitchell had one point.

With a record of 5-5, Renton was looking to get above .500 while Franklin Pierce was trying to maintain just two losses on the season in the third first-round matchup of the day. It was a tight lead for Renton as they led 18-17 after the first quarter. After a 28-point second quarter, the Redhawks grew their lead to 46-29 at the half, fueled by nine first-half three-pointers. Both offenses slowed down in the third quarter, with Renton up 59-38 through three periods. The Redhawks had another offensive explosion, with 24 points in the fourth to pull away and win 83-49.

The Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went to Renton’s Isaac Elegan, who led the Redhawks with 19 points and drained five of Renton’s 13 threes.

Renton’s Juice White-Kelley wasn’t far behind Elegan, with 16 points, and Sudon Luok also was in double-figures with 11 points. Nate Omar had eight points, Jalen Taylor had seven points, Suhail Abdulmumin had six points, Jayden Holifield, Adan Abdi, and Samson Mullen all finished with four points, and Blake Ervin rounded out the scoring with three points.

Franklin Pierce’s Emmanuel Johnson led everybody with 22 points and four three-pointers. Lamel Brim had 11 points, Jojo McLean had seven points, Hakeen Collins had five points, and the duo of DJ Valentine and Latrelle Brim had two points each.

Silas and Foss are separated by just two miles, and they would close out day one at the T-Town Throwdown. The Rams had a terrific start, putting up a whopping 29 points to take a commanding 29-10 lead after the first quarter. Silas built their lead up to 48-16 at the half and continued into the third quarter with a 66-31 lead. Silas secured the final spot in the T-Town Throwdown Semifinals with a 90-37 victory.

The Sumner Holiday Inn Express Game MVP went to Silas guard, Trey Collier, who had 17 points to lead the Rams.

Silas had five players reach double figures, with Collier’s 17, Myree Woods, Jamirie Pringle, and Cannon Howard all with 11 points, and AJ Smith adding 10 points. Makhi Pleasant-Tolliver had nine points, Keiondre Baldwin had eight points, Jaxen Loften had seven points, and Malachi Doss had six points.

For Foss, Kaeden Chinnell had 19 points, Abdoul Gueye had 12 points, Mustafa Al Gburi had four points, and Lakai Hovelman had two points.
