(Seattle, WA) The Saint Martin’s Saints Men’s Basketball team was nearly flawless in 2025 and was looking to carry that momentum over into 2026 as they dipped back into GNAC play, going up against the Seattle Pacific Falcons. Saint Martin’s jumped out to a 7-0 lead before Seattle Pacific rallied to cut the Saints’ lead down to 13-12. The half was tied up at 21 apiece before the Falcons opened up an eight-point lead at 33-25. Saint Martin’s trailed 36-33 at the half, but erupted in the second half with a 17-6 run to go up 57-45. Seattle Pacific dropped in a run of their own, to go up 64-62 with under four minutes to go. Kaden Hansen drained a three-pointer to give the Saints a 65-64 lead with just over 100 seconds left in regulation. Diego Trejo-Delgado added a lay-in for the Saints to go up 67-64 just 30 seconds later. The Saints would hang on for an exciting 73-67 victory.
Dae’Kwon Watson led all scorers with 21 points and had four steals, more than Seattle Pacific had as a team. Diego Trejo-Delgado had 16 points and three offensive rebounds. Kaden Hansen had 12 points and the go-ahead three-pointer to help secure the victory for the Saints. Pablo Navarro had nine points and 14 rebounds coming off the bench. The Saints turned it over just seven times and had 20 fast break points compared to Seattle Pacific’s zero. Seattle Pacific shot 6-12 from the free-throw line while Saint Martin’s converted 12-16 foul shots.
Saint Martin’s is riding an eight-game winning streak and sits 11-2 overall. The Saints are the only team in the GNAC right now with a 3-0 record, as Montana State Billings and Northwest Nazarene aren’t far behind at 2-0. Saint Martin’s is the only GNAC team with both the men’s and women’s teams undefeated and in first place. The Saints travel to Montana State Billings on Saturday afternoon for a big game with first place on the line.
