SEATTLE, WASH

Berkly Catton scored his first two National Hockey League goals and the Kraken power play struck on three occasions in a Seattle Kraken 7-4 win over the Boston Bruins from Climate Pledge Arena.

Jordan Eberle, Ben Myers, Jared McCann, and Kappo Kakko’s pair of tallies accounted for Seattle’s scoring with Joey Daccord making 32 saves in the win. Boston saw David Pastrnak score twice along with goals from Mason Lohrei and Viktor Arvidsson in the loss with Jeremy Swayman making 20 saves.

The Kraken came into the night on an eight game point streak and winning seven of those games.

On a two man advantage in the first period, Jordan Eberle buried a loose rebound on Bruins netminder Jeremy Swayman to put Seattle up 1-0 at 8:50 of the opening period. Matty Beniers and Vince Dunn earned an assist on the Kraken captain’s 15th of the season.

Boston responded when David Pastrnak beat an impending Boston icing and tucked a shot by Joey Daccord to tie the game at 12:47.

After Jacob Melanson scored his National Hockey League goal last night, the milestones kept coming for Seattle. Berkly Catton, Seattle’s first round selection from the 2024 entry draft, sneaked a shot by Swayman from the right faceoff circle for his first National Hockey League goal at 2:48 of the second period. Catton about the goal, said, “lot of weight off the shoulders for sure.”

David Pastrnak buried a Charlie McAvoy pass into a yawning cage at 6:28 of middle period to tie the game a second time for Boston.

Ben Myers broke the tie by scoring off a setup from Tye Kartye at 18:23. Seattle was not done. After a Alex Steeves slashing penalty, Seattle’s power play went to work. Jared McCann scored with 0.5 sec left on the clock in the period off a cross ice feed from Vince Dunn. Seattle scored two goals in the last 1:36 of the period to take a two goal lead into the third period.

Kappo Kakko buried his third goal of the season at 10:21 of the third period to give Seattle added security. Freddy Gaudreau set up Kakko on a stretch pass upon entering the attacking zone leading to the goal. Berkly Catton at 14:20 after scoring his first NHL goal tallied his second on a pass from Freddie Gaudreau at 14:20.

Boston scored 30 seconds later when Mason Lohrei found the back of the net after a net mouth scramble. The Bruins scored again when Viktor Arvidsson scored on the power play at 17:38. Kappo Kakko punctuated the Seattle 7-4 victory with an empty net goal at 19:48.

Seattle’s seven goals are the most they have scored since December 8, 2024 against the New York Rangers. Head Coach Lane Lambert about the team’s confidence said, “we’ve got guys with their swagger back.”

The Kraken remain third in the Pacific Division with 47 points with points in their last nine games and wins in eight of those contests.

Seattle plays on Thursday against the Minnesota Wild, before traveling out east for a five game road trip.
