TACOMA, WASH
For the second straight game, Silas found itself staring at a double-digit deficit in a pivotal Puget Sound League matchup. And for the second straight time, the Rallying Rams responded.
Silas erased another early hole to defeat Mount Tahoma 73–67, showcasing the resilience that has defined its season. The victory gives the Rams a three-game cushion over the Thunderbirds for the fourth seed in the PSL Tournament out of the Narrows Division.
Mount Tahoma entered the night facing adversity, as star guard Zion Norman was unavailable. That absence forced the Thunderbirds’ supporting cast into expanded roles, and they delivered early. Mikkah Cordero sparked Mount Tahoma in the opening quarter, drilling three first-period triples to help build a 20–17 lead after one. Forward Peter Pilcher added steady production inside, converting multiple three-point-play opportunities as the Thunderbirds pushed the advantage to 39–28 late in the first half.
Trailing is nothing new for Silas. Just two nights earlier, the Rams fell behind 19–1 against Lakes before storming back for a 106–94 overtime win. A key piece in that rally was Myree Woods, who followed up his 27-point outing Tuesday by keeping Silas within striking distance Thursday, scoring 13 first-half points.
The second half belonged to MakHai Pleasant-Tolliver. After a quiet four-point performance in Tuesday’s win, the senior flipped the script, pouring in 18 second-half points to fuel the comeback. Silas methodically chipped away before seizing its first lead since the opening quarter early in the fourth—and never relinquished it.
Foul trouble proved costly for Mount Tahoma, as Pilcher fouled out and Silas limited Cordero’s scoring chances down the stretch. Trey Collier delivered the finishing touches, scoring 10 points in the fourth quarter, including six clutch free throws in the final moments to seal the win.
With the victory, Silas improves to 8–4 in PSL play, while Mount Tahoma falls to 6–6.
