Seattle Pacific Falcons 76, Saint Martin’s Saints 72
(Lacey, WA) The Saint Martin’s Saints Men’s Basketball team was looking to start a new win streak after a tough loss on Thursday. The Saints defeated Seattle Pacific earlier in the month and were looking for a season sweep at Marcus Pavilion.
In the first half, Seattle Pacific used a slower tempo to slow the game down to its pace. The Falcons controlled the half, leading the entire first half by burning seven triples. Seattle Pacific led 39-31 at the half as they hit some clutch late baskets to build their lead. In the second half, Seattle Pacific led by double digits for the majority of the second half and as late as four and a half minutes to go. Saint Martin’s launched a furious comeback filled with clutch baskets from Kaden Hansen and Pablo Navarro and key steals to pull within 74-72 with less than a minute to go. The Saints had two chances to take the lead, but couldn’t convert, and Seattle Pacific escaped with a 76-72 victory.
Kaden Hansen led everybody with 29 points with another Herculean effort as he nearly carried the Saints singlehandedly to a come-from-behind win. Anthony Simo had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Diego Trejo-Delgado had 11 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. The Saints forced Seattle Pacific to turn the ball over 15 times with a whopping 12 steals, as five players had multiple steals.
