Tennessee commit and Tacoma’s very own, Oliviyah Edwards, has been named to the McDonald’s All-American team. Edwards is a five-star recruit and, according to 247 Sports, is ranked as the fifth recruit in the Class of 2026. Edwards is a highly touted recruit with offers from LSU, South Carolina, USC, and others, but will ultimately head to Rocky Top to play for the Lady Volunteers. This is the second year in a row that a player from Washington is playing in the McDonald’s All-American Game, as Brynn McGaughy participated last year.

Edwards currently plays for Lincoln after spending the last two years at Elite Sports Academy. Edwards has been injured as of late, but when she’s been on the floor, she’s been remarkable. Edwards will join the great Candace Parker and others as players who have been named to the McDonald’s All-American team and play at Tennessee. The Lady Vols haven’t won the NCAA title since 2008, under the legendary head coach, Pat Summitt. This season, Tennessee is 14-5 overall and second in the SEC with a record of 6-1. They were ranked 19th in the latest AP Poll.

The McDonald’s All-American Game will take place on March 31 in Phoenix, Arizona, and will be broadcast on ESPN.
