PUYALLUP, WASH

Fresh off of winning a 1A State Championship the year prior, the Bellevue Christian Vikings proved their championship pedigree once again, coming away with a 47-32 victory over Cascade Christian. Bellevue Christian with the win clinches a first round bye in the District Tournament and earns a home District Semifinal game next Tuesday night. Cascade Christian with the loss plays Saturday night in a loser out game against East Jefferson Saturday night.

The winner at the end of the night was assured the #2 seed in the District playoffs and would clinch a home game in the semifinals of the District Tournament. Bellevue Christian seized control of the game from the outset. Kiana Skogstad set the rhythm for the Vikings with a pair of three’s in the first quarter. Bellevue Christian leaped to a 17-6 lead after one quarter. The Vikings turned to Olivia Reynolds and Emily Hoffmann to supply plenty of the offense when Skogstad was not scoring. Bellevue Christian led 24-15 at halftime.

Cascade Christian’s offense is supported by post Abigail Shelton. The sophomore’s impact was felt throughout the contest. The Cougars trailing by 11 went on an 8-0 run to close out the third quarter in large part due to Shelton. The sophomore ended up leading Cascade Christian in scoring with 16.

The fourth quarter however saw Bellevue Christian slam the door shut. Grace Reynolds sank a three to seemingly put the game out of reach. Bellevue Christian with the win clinched the number two seed in the District Tournament and a home semifinal playoff game Tuesday night.
