For the second consecutive season, the Seattle Mariners will start game one with Logan Gilbert on the mound in Seattle. The tall righty allowed just one run on two hits with eight strikeouts and no walks in seven innings against the Athletics last season in his first Opening Day start. There was debate on if Bryan Woo would get the nod after his All-Star season but instead, Gilbert becomes the 10th starting pitcher in Mariners history to make consecutive Opening Day starts.
