SUMNER, WASH
The Stadium Tigers defeated the Sumner Spartans 3-0 in the District Championship. Stadium in their second year in their return to 4A. Fisher Jarzynka scored a pair of goals with Abraham Cooper adding insurance late. The win for Stadium is their first since 2022 when the program was playing in the 3A Classification.
Both teams set their gaze ahead for the State Tournament, with the bracket to be released over the weekend.
It did not take long for Stadium to strike first. Fisher Jarzynka opened the scoring 13 seconds in on a rush down left wing, burying the shot by Sumner keeper Kevin Ramos-Carrillo. Stadium carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Jarzynka’s goal stood as the only scoring until several frantic minutes for the finish. Case Kelanic robbed Bergen Eriksson to keep Sumner off the scoresheet. Seconds later, Josiah Olsen set up a streaking Jarzynka for his second goal of the game in the 74th minute. Moments later off a corner, Abraham Cooper in the 77th minute headed in another goal to sew up the District Championship for Stadium.
