Prairie 4, Black Hills 0

(Tumwater, WA) The Prairie Falcons have had an up and down season so far with a 3-2 record but on a win-lose-win-lose-win pattern while it’s been all losses for the Wolves at 0-4. The good news for Black Hills it was Prairie’s turn to lose in the current pattern, the bad news, Prairie didn’t follow the pattern.

Determined to snap that streak the Falcons top strikers Christian Thyron and Joel Aguilar led the Falcons to the easy shut out win. The two combined early in the 3rd minute on a corner kick from Aguilar, a perfectly placed crossing shot that Thyron headed in easily past Wolves keeper Matt Braun for the 1-0 lead. The Wolves would tighten up and Braun would make 2 tremendous saves keeping the Falcons stuck on 1 and they would go to the half with just the 1 goal lead.

In the 2nd half the Falcons again struck early just 3 minutes into the 2nd half this time Thyrone set up Aguilar with the lead in pass and Aguilar finished it off to go up 2-0. Goal #3 would come just 5 minutes later and it was Thyrone scoring his 2nd goal with the assist going to Aguilar and just 4 minutes later the dynamic duo would finish off the scoring with Thyrone setting up Aguilar for his 2nd goal. So both Falcons finished with 2 goals and 2 assists.

The Wolves did have some good scoring opportunities especially in the 1st half with Bekele Dowty and Bemnet Lester having the best chances but the backline for Prairie had a huge night led by Hunter Anderson and Benji Espinosa while the keeper Bryson Manandice was perfect at protecting the shut out.

The Falcons are now 4-2 on the season while Wolves remain winless at 0-5. Our Tommy Lowe of Greene Realty Players of the Game were Christian Thyrone for Prairie and Bekele Dowty for Black Hills. Our ProActive Physical Therapy Play of the Game went to Joel Aguilar for the perfect corner kick on the 1st goal in the match.
