The Lakes Lancers are 5-2 and 4-2 in the Pierce County League and look to win their 2nd straight win as they host the Bonney Lake Panthers (3-6 overall, 2-5 in PCL) on Thursday night.

The Lancers have a young but talented squad, as Freshman Elizabeth Filliaga leads the Lady Lancers with kills with 63 according to MaxPreps.com. Jr. Melila Pulalasi is having a strong season for Lakes as well, as the State Track & Field medalist in the Discus and Shot Put last year is near the top in multiple categories for the Lancers.

Bonney Lake looks to bounce back from a 3-0 loss to Silas on Tuesday, and are led by Senior Libero Ella Hamry, who is an outstanding server and was all league selection last season for the Panthers.  She helped to its first win over rival Sumner in seven years, collecting an ace, two kills, two assists and 10 digs in three sets. In a defeat to Stadium, had two aces, an assist and 16 digs. The Tacoma News Tribune also provided those sets and nominated her for Athlete of the Week recent.

Lakes defeated Bonney Lake 3-1 earlier this season on Sept. 19 that ended a 6-game losing skid for Lakes against the Panthers, their first win in 4 years against Bonney Lake.
