Centralia 1, WF West 0 (2-1 shoot-out)

Bearcat Stadium hosted the first leg of the girls Soccer Rotary Cup and saw Centralia come away with a shootout win. WF West and the Tigers played to a 0-0 draw thru regulation thanks in large part to an amazing save by Bearcat keeper Staysha Fleutsch right before the whistle to end regulation this play would earn her our Better Homes and Gardens Northwest Home Team Takin’ it to the House Play of the Game. The play would also force 2 scoreless golden goal overtime periods and a PK shootout to determine a winner.

It was in the shootout that our Thorbeckes MVP would shine brightest. Tigers junior goal keeper Braylee Blankenship blocked four of the five shots in the shootout with only Emily Mallonee scoring for WF West. Anahi Corona and Olivia Gruginski both scored in the shootout for the Tigers with the other 2 shooters hitting the post.  Centralia is now 3-1 in the EVCO 2A and face Black Hills at home on 9/28. WF West is now 2-2 and head to Eatonville on 9/23.
