(Auburn, WA) Day 4 of the live racing season was Saturday with 8 races and 62 total starters. This was a 7.75 average per race and it paid off with a strong nearly 1.2-million in handle or just shy of $150,000 per race. The 8 winners truly was from odds-on to boxcars. We’ll dive more into the pay-offs and other news and notes in our Track Wire feature later next week.
In this post we re-cap Saturday’s races with full pay-outs and race replays. Let’s get to Saturday’s races!
7th Race Feature Race
The largest field of the season saw 11 fillies and mares break from the gates under starter Mark Gibson going 5 1/2-furlongs. The large field did not fool the betting public as Attracted went off as the 7-5 favorite.
Attracted broke 8th out of the gates from her 4 post position and jockey Silvio Amador made sure she didn’t get involved in a h0t early pace that set fractions of 21.40 and 44.01. Miss Dynamic with Juan Gutierrez and Victoria’s Charge with Manny Americano were duking it out while Creme de Menthe and Kevin Krigger were just behind.
Down the backstretch Amador positioned Attracted closer in 5th place and moved toward the outside. The top trio were hammer and tongs to the quarter pole when Attracted and Amador made their move. Amador swung Attracted to the outside of the early speed and hjad a 1/2 length lead at the top of the stretch.
Amador gave Attracted a couple of taps and she responded by quickly operning up a clear lead and extended it to nearly a 6 length victory. Attracted stopped the clock in a quick 1:02.01.
The early speed in this race did well to hold on as Victoria’s Charge held 2nd, Creme de Menthe was 3rd and Miss Dynamic completed the superfecta.
Peter Redekop owns Attracted and the gray filly is trained by Blaine Wright. Attracted earned $14,250 to push her career total to $52,250. This was just her 4th career start and 1st at Emerald. Attrated hasn’t run out of the exacta yet with 3 wins and a place, a 75% win rate.
