On Tuesday and Wednesday, the WIAA State Boys Golf Tournaments took place across the state. Below are the results from each class, with a link to the full results from the State Tournaments.

4A

Skyline’s Ethan Schwan, a sophomore, won the Individual Championship with a pair of 70s for a two-day total of 140. Newport (Bellevue)’s Aaron Yu, a freshman, took second with 141, Kamiak’s Tristan Kim, also a freshman, took third with 142. Lewis & Clark’s Jack Brigham was fourth with 144, and Eastlake’s Elliot Ro and Skyline’s Hyunsoo Son, a freshman, tied for fifth with 145.

Newport (Bellevue) won the team championship after opening up the tournament with a team round of 293. Their two-day total of 604 beat Lewis & Clark by eight shots, while Skyline took third place.

3A

Liberty (Renton)’s Calvin Cakarnis won the Individual Championship, with a two-day total of 142. The top ten players finished within five strokes, but Cakarnis shot 74 in the first round and the round of the Championship, a 68 in the second round to win by one shot. Mountain View’s Grady Millar and Ballard’s Lucas Williams tied for second with 143. Gig Harbor’s Theo Snyder and Bellevue’s Rowan Gerron tied for fourth with 144.

Mercer Island won the team championship by only two shots, shooting an impressive 295 on the second day to beat Bellevue. Mercer Island had a team total of 605, Bellevue was at 607 strokes, and Cheney took third place with 613.

2A

Burlington-Edison’s Wyatt Brownell won the Individual Championship by six shots. Brownell fired a first-round 72 and backed it up with the best round of the two-day Championship with a 70 in the second round. Washougal’s Trenton Maddox and Mason Acker each shot 148 to claim runners-up. Pullman’s Parker Legreid shot 149 to take fourth place, and Archbishop Murphy’s Jack Duffy shot 150 to claim fifth.

Pullman edged Washougal by four points to win the team title. Pullman had 106 while Washougal had 102, and Bainbridge took third with 92.5.

Cascade Christian’s Zeke Prociw won the Individual Championship with a two-day total of 141. Prociw shot 69 in the first round, which was the lowest round of the Championship, and 72 in the second round. Meridian’s Matthew Blankenburg was second with 145, Annie Wright’s Wilson Dicks was third with 146, Seton Catholic’s Jacob Parker was fourth with 147, and Meridian’s Daniel Blankenburg rounded out the top five with 148.

Meridian won the team title, with 72 points. Cascade Christian took second with 44.5 points, and Seton Catholic was third with 44 points.

2B

The top five players in the Individual Championship were all within three shots of each other in a wildly competitive Championship. Adna’s Trevin Salme, a sophomore, was able to win by one shot, shooting 76 in the first round and firing a 71 in the second round for a two-day total of 147. Orcas Island’s Joe Anderson, a freshman, came in second with 148, Manson’s Wyatt Winters, Saint George’s School’s Matthew Longstreth, and Upper Columbia Academy’s Jack MacLachlan all shot 150 to tie for third.

Orcas Island won the team championship with 36.5 points. Mount Vernon Christian was only seven points back at 29.5 while Tri-Cities Prep was at 17 points in third place.

Freshman, Jake Warwick from DeSales, took the Individual State Championship, with a pair of 70s to shoot 140 and win by six strokes. Wilbur-Creston-Keller’s Kallen Maioho was second with 146, Pomeroy’s Vinny Vecchio was third with 151, Summit Classical Christian’s Will Simon took fourth with 153, and Liberty Christian School’s Ivan Spence shot 154 to take fifth.

Summit Classical Christian won the team title with 61.5 points, while DeSales took second with 41.5 points, and Lummy Nation took third with 24.5.
