(DuPont, WA) The 32nd Washington Women’s Amateur Championship, held this year at The Home Course, was won by the narrowest of margins. Bellevue’s Grace Lee, a senior at Gonzaga, won with a three-day total of 216, even par. Lee beat Suzie Train from Poulsbo by one shot, as Tran shot a three-day total of 217, 1-over.

Lee started the Championship with back-to-back 71s, giving her the 36-hole lead. In the final round, Lee had a pair of 37s for her nines, including pars on eight of the nine holes on the back nine. Lee went to Bellevue High School and finished fifth in the 3A State Tournament twice. Lee was named to the 2024-25 All-West Coast Conference Team this season for the third straight year. This year, Lee’s scoring average was 72.69, which is the best in the program’s history. Lee was also named Women’s Golfer of the Month for March.

This is the first WA Golf Championship for Lee, and with the win, she earns an exemption into the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, held in Bandon, Oregon, at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort (Bandon Dunes). Lee also receives exemptions into the 2025 Rosauers Open (Champion must reside in the Pacific Northwest Section), 2025 Northwest Open (Champion must reside in the Pacific Northwest Section), 2026 Washington Women’s Champion of Champions, 2026 Washington Open (Champion must reside in the Pacific Northwest Section), 2026 Pacific Northwest Women’s Amateur Championship, and a lifetime exemption into the Washington Women’s Amateur Championship.

Darae Chung from Eugene, Oregon, took third at 4-over. Carly Ikei from Gig Harbor had the only sub-70 round of the tournament, firing a 3-under 69 in the final round to launch herself into solo fourth at 6-over for the championship. Kennedy Knox from Normandy Park, Amber Li from Bellevue, and Cienna Lee from Lacey all tied for fifth at 8-over. Claire Chang from Bellevue took solo eighth at 10-over. Rounding out the top 10 were Amanda Peng from Bellevue and Nicole Koong from Sammamish, tied for ninth at 11-over.
