ESN’s 2024-25 High School Replay Games of the Week!

The 2024-25 High School sports season was filled with memorable games, events, matches and contests. The Eli Sports crew has gone through the tens of thousands of hours of great High School sports competition. This year, with the help of American Behavioral Health Systems we’re going to bring you 6 weeks of highlighted games and matches from games ESN had a crew calling the action.

Each week we will have 7 highlighted games from Football, Volleyball, boys and girls Basketball, boys and girls Soccer and a Baseball or Fastpitch game.  The games are listed below with a link to the on-demand replay on the NFHS Network.

ABHS Replay Games of the Week 

Week 4 July 14
Football
The seeding committee nailed this final with #1 Liberty Christian facing #2 Wilbur-Creston-Keller (WKC) but did they get the final seeding correct? WKC was not ready to fall in line with seed numbers and did not back down pulling out the win. This was the first State Championship for WCK.

Volleyball
The 3A Championship was another perfect seeding by the committee with the goal getting 1 vs 2 and they did just that with #1 Ridgeline facing #2 North Thurston. The Rams came into the final match with a 3-0 sweep over Mt Spokane in the semi-finals while Ridgeline, in just their 4th year as a school battled Seattle Prep to a 3-2 semi win. North Thurston then went up 2-1 after 3 sets but the Falcons did not give in and came roaring back. This is a great final in the 3A’s!

Girls Basketball
NW Christian (Colbert) came in as the 8 seed and facded #1 Rainier in the Regionals, took them out then knocked off #10 Liberty in the quarters and #4 Reardan in the semi’s before showing down with #2 Adna. The Pirates rolled through their bracket to get to the title game as the favorite. NWC didn’t care what seed you were and made them all pay in the end. This is the end of a miraculous season for NWC (Colbert).

Boys Basketball
We head to Spokane this week with our Replay of the week in the 1B boys state Championship where the seeding committee got the final pair correct with #1 Almira-Coulee-Hartline facing #2 Lummi Nation. The Black Hawks were coming off a tight win against Neah Bay in the semifinals while the Warriors pulled away from Desales. The Championship game would come down to the final 14 seconds in a thriller.

Girls Soccer
Lake Stevens came in as the 8 seed and rolled into the State championship match to take on #2 Woodinville. The Vikings beat 1 seed Skyline in the quartefinals then faced 13 seeded Issaquah in the senifinals. The #13 Eagles stunned #4 Chiawana in the opening round and beat #5 Skyview in the quarters. The Falcons shut out their 1st two opponents and then had a heated battle with #6 Curtis in the semifinal winning 2-1 before facing Lake Stevens. The Title match would come down to the final runs in a tight 2-1 match that the Vikings would hold on for the upst win.

Boys Soccer
What a thrilling match to end the boys 2025 soccer season when #5 Hazen and #2 Woodinville got as close to OT as you can get with game winner scored in stoppage time. #5 Hazen got to the ttile match with 3 straight 1 goal wins beating Lincoln, Puyallup and Wenatchee. #2 Woodinville had more breathing room in their first two matches but had a heck of a battle in the semifinals with a 2-1 win over #3 Chiawana. It was only appropriate that the championship came down to a spectacular shot with little time for a 2-1 win.

Baseball/Fastpitch
This week we head to the Tri-Cities for a great semifinal fastpitch showdown in the seminfinal with the Eagles of Issaquah the 3 seed facing the upset minded 10 seeded Rogers Rams. This would come down to the final at bat in the 7th inning with the tying runs on base. One team heads to the Title showdown.

Week 3 July 7
Football
The Anacortes Seahawks were playing with a chip on their shoulder even though they were the defending State 2A Champs. The Seahawks were given the #2 seed behind Tumwater who they beat 60-30 in 2023. Anacortes wasn’t intimidated by the long history the T-Birds had in 2023 and they weren’t ready to back down in 2-24. This was not a 30 point game but a down in the trenches slugfest. Some good old fashioned football in this one!

Volleyball
The Curtis Vikings took the 4A State Championship in straight sets. But before getting to the title match they had a heck of a showdown with Lake Stevens who likely felt had they been able to get by the Vikings they would have been Champs. This 3-2 OT semifinal match was the best of the 4A tournament as the Curtis pulled out the win in a battle of Vikings.

Girls Basketball
There’s nothing worse than having your dreams of a State Championship crushed with a tight loss in the semi-finals. This week’s girls hoops replay is the 1A semi-final in Yakima with King’s taking on Lynden Christian. This one went down to the final shot.

Boys Basketball
When #1 seed Rainier Beach won the 3A state championship it wasn’t a big surprise. What was surprising is how they had to do it with a big early stumble. For the boys we are linking 2 games this week. The first is the stunning upset loss of the Vikings to 8 seed Bellarmine Prep in the Regional round. The Vikings battled back and got to the Championship game where they finished off Edmonds-Woodway who were making their own historic run but fell short i9n the title game.

Girls Soccer
The 2A State Championship came down to a pair of league foes from the GSHL 2A. These two have matched up more times in the Volleyball title game than soccer but this year the Ridgefield Spudders as the #1 seed got to face their league foe #3 Columbia River for the 4th time this season. The Spudders held a 2-1 advantage splitting the regular season and beating the Rapids in the District Championship match.

Boys Soccer
No one expected The Bush School to be playing in the final 1A boys soccer match of the year when they faced top seeded University Prep. The Bush School came in as the 15 seed surprising the seeding committee knocking off 2 seed Cascade Christian, 11 seeded King’s and 3rd seeded columbia to get to the Championship team. University Prep was ready but they ended up with a much tougher game than you would expect with a 15 seed taking on the 1 seed.

Baseball/Fastpitch
Bainbridge dropped into 2A this last season after the re-classification cycle and it certainly boosted their presence in Baseball. Bainbridge as the 2 seed would take on #1 Anacortes. It would take a special effort to knock off the Seahawks and the pitching staff delivered.

Week 2 June 30
Football
In our 2nd selection a high flying game in the Puget Sound League where a once left for dead Mount Tahoma program said no and have been a program on the rise re-storing that great T-Bird history. Lincoln had their hands full with Mount Tahoma as this one went to OT.

Volleyball
We’re headed to the 2B State Semi-Finals where #3 Freeman and new to the 2B classification dropping down from 1A would face the defending Champions and 2 ranked Manson Trojans who won their first ever State team Championship of any sport in 2023. This was a great battle with big late runs to determine this match sending one of them to the Championsahip match.

Girls Basketball
Many times the Saturday non-Championship games at the State Tournament are one-sided affairs with some teams disappointed with a tough loss on Friday night it’sa hard to bounce right back. It looked like that in the 4A 3rd place game when Glacier Peak led 32-16 at the half over Woodinville. But the Falcons woke up at the half and this was as thrilling a game as you could ask for with the only question could Woodinville come all the way back?

Boys Basketball
It was a 3 vs 2 in the Boys 2A State Basketball Tournament in Yakima and the Bremerton Knights were seeking thjeir first ever State Championship in boys hoops. But first they had to deal with the RA Long Lumberjacks. This game was always in question to the end and both the Knights and Jacks made their runs.

This B Girls Soccer Semifinal was an instant classic when Mount Vernon Christian battled Crosspoint. Regular time wasn’t enough and either were the 2 OT’s. This wen t to PK’s.

Boys Soccer
The 3A Championship came down to 2 vs 3 seeds when the 3 seed Mercer Island faced off with #2 Shorewood. These two teams battled back and forth and in the end one was desparetly trying to hold the lead so would they?

The 1B State Baseball Championship came down to the final inning with both DeSales and Liberty Christian battling for the big Trophy. An exctiing battle between these two clubs came down to a 1 run game.

Week 1 June 23
Football
Our first game to Highlight in Football is also the last game to be played in 2024. The Camas Papermakers battled the Sumner Spartans for the 4A State Football Championship. The Spartans hadn’t won the big trophy since 1977. Camas last won it in 2019 when they beat Bothell. This game is going to take you on a wild ride, enjoy!

Volleyball
In Volleyball we begin with the 3rd seeded but 3-time defending Champion, Columbia River Rapids facing top seed Ellensburg Bulldogs for the 2A State Title. Columbia River beat their league and state rival 6 seeded Ridgefield in the quarterfinals. They then knocked off 2 seed Burlington-Edison. The Bulldogs defeated 9 seed Pullman in the quarters then blanked 4 seed Archbishop Murphy to get to the finals.

Girls Basketball
We begin with one of two 3A girls semi-finals that finished in a 2 point win. 4-time defending Champs, Garfield stunned everyone by getting back to the semi-finals as the #19 seed. They faced 6-time Champions Central Valley to try for their 5th Title in a row.

Girls Soccer
The Girls State 3A Championship is where we begin the Girls flashback with 5 seed Seattle Prep facing 3rd seed Roosevelt. With #1 Gig Harbor ousted in the opening round by 17 seed University it opened the door for all to make a run at the trophy. It came down to a pair of familiar Metro league foes. Roosevelt knocked out the 2 seed Bellevue in the semi-finals and Seattle Prep ousted 8 seeded Mt Spokane to reach the finals.

Boys Soccer
The 2B/1B boys season is in the Fall and the selection committee nailed this one with #1 Orcas Island taking on #2 Lopez Island for all the marbles. This was the 4th straight year Orcas Island had advanced to the title match. They had won it once. This was the 3rd match between the two teams this season and the rubber match had the State Title riding on it.

Baseball/Fastpitch
We’re going to start with a couple of surprises playing for the 3A State Fastpitch Championship in the 8 seeded Garfield Bulldogs against #6 Liberty. Garfield stunned the 1 seed Stanwood 5-4 then knocked out 4th seeded Sedro Woolley before moving on to face Liberty. The Patriots blanked 3 seed Enumclaw then took down 10 seed Snohomish to advance to the Championship game.
