Former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle is preparing a rescue and relief response for Jamaica, as Hurricane Melissa is ravaging the island. Biffle provided countless rescue missions last fall after Hurricane Helene rolled through the United States and caused destructive flooding and landslides, trapping people across North Carolina and Tennessee. Biffle flew his helicopter to areas that were trapped due to flooding and destruction from the hurricane to provide supplies and save lives. In an interview with WFMY News 2, Biffle talks about his plan for helping the island nation with YouTuber Garrett Mitchell (Cleetus McFarland).

Hurricane Melissa is a Category 5 hurricane and is one of the strongest hurricanes to hit the Atlantic Ocean. According to The Weather Channel, there are winds of 185 MH, and they predict years of recovery. They also predict there could be up to 40 inches of rain for some parts of Jamaica, which could trigger catastrophic flooding and landslides.

Biffle grew up in Vancouver and raced across the Pacific Northwest. Biffle went to Camas High School and graduated in the class of 1988. In an interview with KPTV, Biffle said he still cruises through the area when he’s in town. Biffle is a minority owner of Sunset Speedway in Banks, Oregon, about 25 miles west of Portland. Biffle was named one of the Top 75 Greatest Drivers of NASCAR in 2023, and last ran a Cup Series race in 2022.
