11/18/25
The 2025 NFL season is flying by and now week 11 has come and went and with it another week of Professor DW’s Football Pick ’em Challenge. There was nearly no drama in the race for the win this week but the competition for second place was a little bit closer, although everything was decided heading into Monday Night Football. The big story of the week was a perfect week from one contestant to run away with the win in a week that featured a lot of field goals.
Almost everyone was in agreement that the Dallas Cowboys would defeat the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night but the games that split the field were Tampa Bay @ Buffalo, Seattle @ Los Angeles, and Detroit @ Philadelphia. Those three games separated the contenders for week 11 from the pretenders and anything less than 12 would not get the job done.
While 12 got you in the running for second, Josh Kaiser smoked the entire competition, picking all 15 games right for a perfect week! Adding in the factor that there were some very tough games to pick, Josh’s performance knocked us dead as he left the competition battered and bruised with his performance. The race for second came down to Alicia Clark, Nicholas Diaz, Carlo Marinuzzi, and Mike Lowder. Mike and Nicholas went to safe with low guesses while Alicia set herself up with a guess of 1,400. However, after a heartbreaker last week for Carlo, his guess of 1,500 this week would be good enough to give him the second place finish just ahead of Alicia as the total field goal yardage for the week was 2,246 in a field goal heavy week.
Both Josh and Carlo finish in the top two for the first time this season as they both move on to the Postseason Tournament. That now brings the total number of qualifiers to 20 with just 14 spots remaining to try to get in and win the Ticket Bonanza! That includes two tickets to the Mariners, Seahawks, Kraken, Sounders, Storm, Tacoma Rainiers, and Emerald Downs. Everyone can continue to enter even if you have already won to try to keep that field as small as possible to increase their chances of winning.
DW did not earn his title back as the Professor, but did at least have a respectable week with 10 correct selections out of the 15 games. His picks of Atlanta and Minnesota fell flat in the early games while Kansas City and Detroit couldn’t help him late. Again, he never really had a shot with Josh’s performance but we aren’t quite sure if he ever really has a shot.
While there wasn’t any one upset that stood out on the slate, the least picked game of the week was Jacksonville blowing out the Los Angeles Chargers. 22% of our entrants got that one right but I don’t think anyone expected it to be as dominant as that. Other games that weren’t commonly picked were Carolina defeating Atlanta in OT and Chicago staying hot by beating Minnesota on a last second field goal.
Week 12’s contest is up. The deadline to get your entry in is 4pm on Thursday so get signed up now. Congratulations Josh and Carlo and best of luck to everyone this week.
