(Puyallup, WA) The Bellevue Wolverines were the last highest seed alive in the final 4 after the 1 seed Gig Harbor and 2 seed Mount Spokane were eliminated in the quarterfinals. Bellevue refused to go down like the higher seed and pulled out the win in a tight 1-0 win over the Liberty (Renton) Patriots.
The 2023 Champs Roosevelt just missed the Championship match and battled Eastside Catholic for the 3rd place trophy. Below is our final coverage of the 3A State Girls Soccer Tournament.
State Championship
#3 Bellevue 1, #9 Liberty (Renton) 0
This match was played in the middle of the field for much of the match with the keepers totaling 5 combined saves. Peyton Warns for the Liberty Patriots had 3 and Bellevue’s Katelyn Moore knocked down 2. The defensive backlines were strong on both ends of the field denying the offensive attacks.
The Wolverines did have more chances with a total of 8 corner kicks in the match but the Patriot defense held up well and through the 1st half it was a 0-0 tie.
Bellevue came out in the 2nd half in attack mode and it ended up paying off early with the first and only goal getting knocked in by Paris Baker who took a throw in from the side, turned on it from just outside the box and ripped a rocket shot into the upper left hand corner over the top of the outstretched arms of Warns for the goal.
Both teams would have their chances but the defenses were simply stifling and held each other in check for the rest of the match and Bellevue held on for the 1-0 win and taking the 3A Championship.
This was Bellevue’s 2nd State Championship and first since 2016. They were 2nd in 2019, 3rd last year and 2013 and a pair of 4ths in 2014 and 2017. Their 7 trophies have all come between 2013 and 2025. They finished the season 15-3-3.
The Sumner Holiday Inn Express MVP went to Paris Baker.
Liberty won their 10th top 4 trophy and 3rd 2nd place finish. They won it all in 2011 and 2018. This is their first trophy since their 2018 Title. The Patriots finished the year with a 13-6-2 record.

3rd/4th Place Match
#7 Roosevelt 1, #4 Eastside Catholic 0
The Roosevelt Roughriders didn’t waste anytime getting on the board to take the lead in this one as Alagna Proskurowski took a long pass over the top from Maddy France. Proskurowski was onside and drove inside the 18 firing a shot from the right of the box to the left sider just out of reach by Crusader keeper Logan Hellyer. This was in the 2nd minute of the match and Roosevelt led 1-0.
That score would not only hold up to halftime but would hold up all 78 minutes after the goal giving the Roughriders a 1-0 win and the 3rd place trophy. Roosevelt’s offense was more active with 3 corners and Hellyer came up with several saves to keep Eastside Catholic in the match. Hellyer would record 6 saves in the match.
The Roosevelt defense was very stiff as keeper Alana Purcell only had 2 saves for the match.
The Roughriders finished the season with a 15-4-1 record while earning their 6th trophy and 2nd 3rd place award. Taking our Sumner Holiday Inn Express MVP was Alagna Proskurowski.
Eastside Catholic finished the year 14-6-1. This was just the 2nd top 4 finish in E-C’s history adding the 4th place trophy to the 3rd place from 2011.
