Last week, the WIAA Executive Board met and discussed a variety of topics. One of the topics was the finalization of the 2026 State Baseball Championship locations. The 1A, 2A location remains the same at Joe Martin Stadium in Bellingham, the home of the Bellingham Bells in the West Coast League. The 1B, 2B location will stay at Carlon Park in Selah and will be played at Wood Field.
The big change will be for 3A and 4A, as last year’s State Championships were interrupted by lighting issues at Parker-Faller Field in Yakima. This school year, the State Championships will return to Funko Field in Everett, home of the Everett AquaSox, the High-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. Funko Field recently held the 2023 3A, 4A State Championships.
The State Baseball Opening Rounds will take place on May 19 and May 23, with the State Semifinals on May 29, and the third-place and championship games scheduled for May 30.
