Semifinals
Saturday, November 29th
(2) Cashmere 41, (3) Mount Baker 14
(Wenatchee, WA) A combination of a strong defense with a ball control and at the same time big play offense from the Cashmere Bulldogs kept the Mount Baker in check and were able to pull away from the Mountaineers in the 2nd half.
Jackson Binger glot things started for the Bulldogs picking off a pass and returning it 48 yards for the first score of the game. In the 2nd half QB Rylan Hatmaker heated up throwing for 3 touchdowns with strikes of 42, 36 and 22 yards.
Mount Baker’s Brice Cooper scored both touchdowns with runs of 67 and 80-yards. Mount Baker finishes the year 10-3. This was the 4th appearance in the semifinals for the Mountaineers and first since playing for the Championship in 2022 where they lost to Royal.
Our crew awarded the Sumner Holiday Inn Express MVP award to Bulldogs QB Rylan Hatmaker. Hatmaker’s leadership and 3 TD passes was the key, Jackson Binger was in the conversation setting the tone defensively with the pick 6.
The win pushes the Cashmere record to 12-1 with their only loss to undefeated Royal 21-15 back on October 3rd. The Bulldogs will now get their chance to avenge thatb loss next Friday at Husky Stadium for the 1A State Championship. Kick-off between the Bulldogs and Royals is 3pm.
