Walla Walla Country Club will be the host site next summer for the Washington Women’s Amateur and Mid-Amateur Championships. The two championships will be held from June 16-18. This is the first time either championship will be held at Walla Walla Country Club. It recently hosted the Washington Senior and Super Senior Men’s Amateur Championships in 2020. Before then, the 2002 and 1941 Washington Men’s Amateur.
Walla Walla Country Club was formed in 1899 and is one of the six founding clubs of the Pacific Northwest Golf Association. Legendary golf architect A.W. Tillinghast, who has worked on Fircrest Golf Club, Inglewood Country Club, and Seattle Golf Club in Washington. He’s worked on other courses like Newport Country Club, Bethpage Black, Winged Foot, Pine Valley, Medinah Number 3, and many others.
The Washington Women’s Amateur Championship is a USGA Exemption Event, which means the winner earns an invite to the U.S. Women’s Amateur. In 2026, the U.S. Women’s Amateur heads to Ooltewah, Tennessee, at The Honors Course from August 4-9. Last year, Grace Lee won the Washington Women’s Amateur and secured her spot in the U.S. Women’s Amateur. Tina Papatolis won the Washington Women’s Mid-Amateur for the second time in her career last summer.
