Saint Martin’s Saints 83, Seattle Pacific Falcons 43
(Lacey, WA) The Saint Martin’s Saints Women’s Basketball team hit the floor at Marcus Pavilion for the first time in 2026. The Saints were taking on Seattle Pacific for the first of two matchups against the Falcons. Saint Martin’s won both contests last year by double figures.
In the first quarter, the defenses were alive and well, as it was tied at 10 apiece. Saint Martin’s offense came to life while playing terrific defense. The Saints held Seattle Pacific to nine points, their lowest of the game, while putting up 18 points. Saint Martin’s was led by Karyss Lacanlale, who had 11 first-half points, including a spectacular lay-up as the halftime buzzer sounded to give them a 28-19 lead at the break. In the third quarter, Saint Martin’s caught fire, with Kasey Booster knocking down four three-pointers and 14 points in the quarter. Saint Martin’s put up 33 points in the third, the most in a quarter all season, to give them a 61-33 lead. The Saints kept things going in the fourth, charging to an 83-43 victory.
Avery Oaster and Kasey Booster led the way with 20 points each, doing it in contrasting styles. Oaster was 8-14 from the floor, with all of her makes coming from inside the arc, while Booster was 6-9 from three, 7-10 from the floor. The pair went 6-6 from the free-throw line. Oaster added six rebounds and two blocks while Booster had a steal on the defensive end. Laiken Hill had 14 points and six rebounds, and Karyss Lacanlale had a season-high 13 points, seven assists, and four rebounds.
After the first quarter, Saint Martin’s shot 57% from the floor and only turned the ball over seven times. The Saint Martin’s bench had 43 points, matching the entire Seattle Pacific squad, while holding Seattle Pacific to 2-16 shooting from three-point distance. The Saints outrebounded the Falcons by 14 boards.
Saint Martin’s improves to 8-6 on the season and is now 4-1 in the GNAC, and is in a tie for second place in the conference with Western Washington and Western Oregon. Saint Martin’s will host Montana State Billings on Saturday before traveling to Western Oregon next Saturday.
