No. 22 Saint Martin’s Saints 74, Western Oregon Wolves 57
(Lacey, WA) The No. 22 Saint Martin’s Saints Men’s Basketball team was eager to get back on the Marcus Pavilion floor for their first home game of the 2026 part of the season. The Western Oregon Wolves were looking for their first win in GNAC action, while the Saints were looking to continue their undefeated start in conference play.
The teams started out slow on offense, and Western Oregon took a 14-11 lead. The Saints went on a 14-0 run to push out to a 28-16 advantage. The Saints led by 16 points with four minutes left in the half at 39-23. Saint Martin’s kept their 16-point margin with a 45-29 halftime lead, with Kaden Hansen scoring 14 points and Dae’Kwon Watson tying his season high for steals in a game with five steals in the opening 20 minutes. The Saints went up 50-32 before both offenses were stuck in neutral for over three minutes. The Wolves went on a 10-2 run to make it a 12-point game but Saint Martin’s quickly responded with a triple. The Wolves wouldn’t got away and made it a 62-53 game. Saint Martin’s went on a 10-2 run themselves to make it a 72-55 lead with a minute to go. The Saints would secure another win, taking it 74-57.
Kaden Hansen and Diego Trejo-Delgado each had 17 points to lead Saint Martin’s. Omer Ege Peksari came off the bench with 10 points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals. Dae’Kwon Watson finished the game with six steals, and eight different Saints scored, seven of them had multiple made field goals.
Saint Martin’s win streak jumps up to 10 games, the second-longest winning streak in program history. The Saints are now 13-2 on the season and 5-0 in the GNAC. Saint Martin’s is the only team undefeated in conference play and the only ranked team in the GNAC. The Saints can set a program record with 12 consecutive wins, with home victories over Western Washington on Thursday and Simon Fraser on Saturday.
