Wild Card Weekend has come and gone and gave us the most exciting Wild Card Weekend since playoff expansion in 2020 and possibly the most exciting Wild Card Weekend ever. Four out of the six games came down to the final drive with only one true blowout in Houston’s 30-6 win over Pittsburgh to end the opening round. With that, Professor DW’s Playoff Tournament had some mixed results with nobody falling out of the race but nobody taking firm control early either.
The Rams beating the Panthers was the popular pick with only Kelsey Hergert and the Professor picking Carolina which almost created a big early swing. Chicago’s dramatic comeback and Buffalo downing Jacksonville were games that were split down the middle. San Francisco pulled the upset of Philadelphia while New England took care of the Los Angeles Chargers and Houston blew out Pittsburgh. Lori Mohney was the only contestant to pick all six actual games correctly but struggled with the prop picks.
The Rams were the popular pick to score the most points, 16 of 23 entrants getting that one correct with the Rams scoring 34 points. Nobody got the highest QB passing yardage with Caleb Williams piling up 361 and nobody even picked second place which was Jordan Love with 323. Field goals were very exciting as we entered the Monday night game with 16 and just four away from the next threshold. There were three field goals which kept it at 19 which gave the 15-19 crowd the point. Only two home teams one (Chicago and New England) which gave just Jennifer Kickner and Kevin Hamrick a point.
You can see the entire leaderboard below as we currently have seven people tied with seven points and nobody with fewer than three. It is very close after a round with still 45 points available in the next few weeks. It is still anybody’s game and with how the playoffs have gone things are completely unpredictable.
The form is updated with the questions for the Divisional Round so make sure to get your entry in by 9am on Saturday. Good luck!
